It’s like you’ve reached into my mind, and extracted my thoughts! I’ve been thinking the same thing for a while now.
I’m constantly frustrated by people who think they can get something like a top 3 spot in Google with little or no effort. These people imagine they can get to page one for a one million a month keyword by using a $50 program. Madness!
I don’t see these people as mad. They’re victims. The advertising sells the idea that it’s easy, and there’s no need to pay some SEO guy when it can all be done automatically.
It’s down to the SEO community to let the wider world know that it’s not easy. That there’s plenty of work involved in getting a site to page one.
That’s a good use of the title tag. I’d add that you need to be careful you write something Google doesn’t view as being too promotional, or it might think you’re trying to spam its index. Also, for SEO purposes it’s a good idea to include your main keyword into both your title and description.
Hey Wayne, so glad you listened to me that morning when I rattled on about the iphone!
Now I’m learning plenty from you about what it can do )
I’ll be downloading Pocket Informant and hoping to get another £1000 of billing in January ) I’m sure there’s a disclaimer on that thou…
I have found the iphone to be an amazing tool, as well as conclusive evidence in the existence of a higher being in the form of GOD (Genius Of Design!)
I’m looking forward to learning and sharing future discoveries of what the iphone and multi-touch technology is capable of! Surely we’re only scraping the surface of human creativity!!!
@Simon Henderson
I think you’re right about “only scraping the surface of human creativity”. In fact I have a few ideas for apps of my own. Unfortunately the iPhone SDK only runs on a Mac
As for that £1,000+, it’s not clear from the article so I’ll change it. What I mean was it was responsible for getting a project completed sooner than I expected. I would eventually have completed it!
