These days Directory links are essentially worthless. Google’s ‘Panda’ updates throughout 2011 have changed the game all over again. Article and Directory sites have been rendered far less useful as a result.

Quality content rules. Others will then naturally link to your site which over time is certainly better than trying to create valid useful links by other methods.

Due to the Google Panda update it is harder for sites to rank. I think it is more important to build a quality site and focus on networking with successful sites with link building and guest posting.
